James Howard Bish, Sr., 75, of Albemarle passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Carolinas Healthcare System, Northeast.? His funeral service will be 3 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin McCormac officiating.? Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 12:30 until 2:30 on Thursday prior to the service.? At other hours the family will gather at the home of Carol and James Smith, 43221 Danville Rd., New London.
Born June 15, 1941 in Lochgelly, WV, he was the son of King David Bish and Blanche Agnes Irvin Bish and was an auditor in the hotel industry.? He attended Palestine United Methodist Church.
Survivors include son James Bish Jr., and wife Josie of Pleasanton TX, brother Curtis Bish and wife Edie of Conneaut, OH, sister Carol J. Smith and husband James of New London, grandchildren K.D. Bish and wife Irma of Laredo TX, Amanda Barbee and husband Randy of Albemarle, Jennifer Rabon and husband Justin of Richfield, and Destiny Bish of Albemarle, and 8 great-grandchildren.? He is also survived by special nephew Ben Davis and a number of other nieces and nephews.? He was preceded in death by daughter Janet Bish Eury, grandson Matthew Little, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
