James Roger Benton, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Roger Benton, Sr., age 71, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Novant Hospital-Main.
Mr. Benton was born on June 18, 1943, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, a son of the late James Morris Benton and Catherine Pauline Thomas Benton.
He was a self-employed electrician.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jeffrey Benton.
Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Monroe, NC; three sons, Jeff Benton of Monroe, NC; James Roger Benton, Jr. of Stallings, NC; Rick Benton of Monroe, NC; one daughter, Gina St. Clair of Matthews, NC; three sisters, Angie Waters and Debi Tucker both of Mint Hill, NC and Barbara Stanley of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Tony Benton of Ansonville, NC. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC, 28207 in memory of James "Roger" Benton, Sr.
