Ivey Ray Smith,'s Obituary
Ivey Ray Smith, Sr., 92 of Albemarle, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.
Mr. Smith was born February 11, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Ernest L. Smith and Glenna Plyler Smith.? Ivey worked for 48 years with Wiscasset Mills before he retired.? He was also a member at Grace Baptist Church in Albemarle.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Elizabeth Morton Smith, four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Smith is survived by his son Ivey R. Smith, Jr. and wife Elaine of Albemarle; daughters Peggy Smith Blalock and husband Wayne of Charlotte, and Shelia Smith Ingram of Albemarle; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Bill Smith and Ted L. Smith both of Albemarle; and sister Shelby Smith of Albemarle.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, January 15, 2016 at Stanly Funeral Home.? Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home chapel officiated by Rev. Joe Smith.? Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
