Irene Percil Tarlton's Obituary
Mrs. Irene Polk Tarlton, age 97, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at her residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2017, at the Davis Funeral Chapel, officiated by Reverend Frank Crump. Interment will be follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tarlton was born on May 10, 1920, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Eli Franklin Polk and Fronnie Rushing Polk. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Washington Tarlton; son, Billy Ray Tarlton; her two sons-in-law, Martin Turnage and Tommy Driggers; four brothers, David Polk, Brice Polk, Paul Polk, and Lloyd Polk and one sister, Kathleen Medlin.
Survivors include her son, Baxter Tarlton and wife, Brenda, of Kings Mountain; three daughters Louise Turnage of Sharon, SC, Neddie Ann Driggers of Monroe, Katherine Tucker of Monroe; one brother, Fred Polk of Monroe. There are seventeen grandchildren, thirty-eight great- grandchildren, and twenty-three great-great-children.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 6, 2017, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
