Herman Boone Hinson's Obituary
Herman Boone Hinson, 89, of Albemarle, NC, passed away Friday September 25, 2015 in his home. His funeral will be Sunday, September 27th at 3 PM at Norwood First Baptist Church with Rev. Todd McSwain and Rev. Ron Huneycutt officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:30-3 PM at the church prior to the service. The burial will be following the service in Norview Cemetery in Norwood.
Born October 6, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, is the son of the late James Silas Hinson and Lessie Jane Boone Hinson. He was a member of Norwood First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea. Following his service in Korea, he worked as a prison guard with the Department of Corrections, from which he later retired. During his retirement, Herman worked as a custodian at Norwood First Baptist Church. Mr. Hinson was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.? He loved his church as well as his Boston Terrier-Lilly.
Mr. Hinson was married to Betty Crump Hinson of the home. Other survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Hinson McLaurin of Albemarle and two grandchildren; Charles McLaurin of Nashville, TN and Christopher McLaurin of Badin, NC. Herman is preceded in death by one brother, Loyd Hinson (Evelyn) and one sister, Virgie Hinson Curlee (Homer).
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hospice of Stanly County at 960 N 1st St, Albemarle, NC 28001. In memory of Herman, the family wishes for those attending the service to wear bright colors, which he loved.
