Herbert Philmore Veatch's Obituary
Herbert Philmore Veatch, 92, of Albemarle passed away January 14, 2021 in his home. His funeral service will be 3 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Monty Clark and Pastor Jay Weemhoff officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM at the church prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Baldwin Memorial Gardens in Milledgeville, GA conducted by Moore?s Funeral Home of Milledgeville.
Born October 7, 1928 in Milledgeville, GA, he was the son of the late Charles Nixon Veatch and Glenna Lewis Veatch. He was a veteran of the US Army and an active member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Veatch retired as a supervisor with J. P. Stevens in Milledgeville, GA.
Mr. Veatch is survived by his wife Catherine Mills Veatch of the home, son Dr. Philip D. Veatch MD and wife Nancy of Albemarle and daughter Vickie Lynn Veatch of Albemarle, five grandchildren Jennifer Allen (Jeremy), Karen Stone (Patrick), Jeremy Veatch (Christina), Michael Veatch, and Emily Shockley (Bryce), and 11 great-grandchildren. Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
