Henry Eugene Laney's Obituary
Henry Eugene Laney, 93, of Monroe passed away on April 26, 2023 in his home. His funeral service will be 3PM Saturday at Davis Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mark Evans and Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 prior to the service.
Born January 16, 1930 in Chesterfield County, SC, he was the son of the late Marshall L. Laney Sr. and Tavie Strawn Laney. He was a retired painter. He loved gardening, fishing, and farming.
Mr. Laney was preceded in death by his wife Doris E. Laney, brothers Robert Laney, James Laney, Lonnie Laney, and sisters Christine Gaddy, Ruby Whitley and Margie Hunter. Survivors include sons Tommy Laney, Rickey Laney (Emma), Johnny Laney (Jackie), daughters Judy Rollins (Freddy), Ruth King (Junior), Brenda Love (Gary), Sandy Griffin (Robert) all of Monroe, 21 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 6 great-greatgrandchildren.
