I met Dwight three years ago at the ECC and played many rounds of golf with him. I always looked forward to riding in the cart with him and talking to him about everything under the sun. He had many opinions. I will miss his wisdom and his wit. I will miss his good golf game and his North Carolina accent. Rest easy my dear friend.
Dwight and I shared the distinction of being the two oldest golfers of our Estero Golf group. Everyone else was a youngster. Although in fact he was two years younger than I. We enjoyed the knowledge we were playing the game we love without the pressure to improve our skills. It was what it was and we were just happy to be part of it all.
The last thing he said to me was he had not forgotten we need to have dinner together with our wives and we will do that early the next golf season.I was looking forward to the occasion as I knew it would have been interesting. Dwight was always interesting and gracious.
I am looking forward to our next golf game to see if he has mastered his play out of the sand.

I always enjoyed playing golf with Dwight at Estero Country Club. He was a true gentleman, and we shared many good stories with each other. I will truly miss his smiling face and excellent golf game.
