Harold Jay Thompson's Obituary
Harold Jay Thompson, 83, of Albemarle passed away on June 18th, 2024. Harold’s graveside service will be on Friday June 21st at 11AM at Stanly Gardens of Memory. The service will be officiated by Rev. Keith Walters.
Harold was born on May 25th, 1941, in Stanly County. He was the son of the late Raymond Louis Thompson and Macy Norton Thompson. Harold was a fixer / overhauler formerly working with American Efird, Wiscasset Milling Company, EJ Snyders. He was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church and attended Lakeview Baptist Church and Hillside Baptist Church.
Harold was married to the late Betty Sue McQuague Thompson. Harold was preceded in death by his son Derick Tlyer Thompson. His survivors include a daughter Laurie Thompson Almond (David) of Albemarle, NC, 4 grandchildren Daniel Almond (Tonya) of Albemarle, NC, Amber Hawkins (Joseph) of Albemarle, NC, Amanda Almond (Clinton) of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Cody Almond (Katie) of Albemarle, NC, 9 great-grandchildren Dylan Almond, Riley Almond, Hezekiah McGowen, Elijiah McGowen, Chesnee Hawkins, Clover Hawkins, Ray Almond, Aliana Almond, Walker Almond.
