Harold Wade ?Sprinky? Burris, 80, of Albemarle passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 in his home. His service will be 2 PM Monday, September 26, 2016 in Stony Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Lanny Lancaster and Rev. Leslee Wray officiating.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care.
Born December 30, 1935 in Montgomery County, NC, he was the son of the late Wade Burris and Mamie Mills Burris and was a retired truck driver with Collins and Aikman.? After retirement, he drove tour buses all over the country. He was a member of Stony Hill United Methodist Church. ?Mr. Burris was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the American Legion.? He enjoyed doing mission work and serving people and was an active member of the United Methodist Men at Stony Hill.? He was a nature lover and he enjoyed watching animals in his back yard through the picture window.? He also enjoyed riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing, doing yardwork, tending to his Koi pond, and spending time with his fur baby, Sadie.
Mr. Burris is survived by his wife Sylvia Mauldin Burris.? Other survivors include son Todd Burris and wife Ginger of Albemarle, daughters Lisa Burris of Cornelius and Amy Burleson and husband Barrett of Albemarle, grandchildren Kaitlin and Kinsley Burris and Kelsey and Preston Burleson.? A sister Patricia Archer preceded him in death.
