Gregory Lee Furr, 67, of Albemarle passed away Sunday February 25, 2018 at the Brian Center in Salisbury, NC. A memorial service for Mr. Furr will be held at a later date. Born August 24, 1950 in Stanly County, he was the son of Read Obituary
Rick, Pat and all the family. I just now learned of Greg's passing. What a shock. I was not aware of him being sick. I am so saddened. I have many fond memories of our times together when we were in our teens. He was alway a kind and loving soul. I never remember seeing him angry. Sending my condolences to all of you.
Greg, the man my best friend Meg, chose for a mate. Always soft spoken, kind to all....never knew you were sick... God take your hand be with him.
I was hiking Morrow Mountain today and saw the shelter reserved for Greg's memorial. What a wonderful location. I did not know him, but your family was in my prayers and thoughts as I hiked today. So sorry for your loss. Best regards, John
I am so sorry to hear about Greg's passing. We were best buddies at the age of 14-15 and had some great times together. For several years we planned to get together but due to the distance (N.C. to Alabama) it never happened. I'm going to miss our emails and talks. God bless all of the family; I really wish I could be there and see his ashes flow over the mountains he loved.

Saddened to hear of Gregery's passing. We were good friends at New London School. he kept all of us laughing! He could really play guitar & bass. Didn't know of his illness. Farewell my friend.
Thank you Becky for your kind words. Greg had surgery for bladder cancer last October and the recovery didn't go well. We are planning a memorial gathering later this month on Morrow Mountain since he enjoyed hanging out up there and walking the trails.Our daughter,Candace, is flying in soon and will be there. So sorry for your loss he was a good friend played music with my husband
I am so sorry to hear that Greg is no longer here with us on this earth, but he is with the Lord now. I had missed hearing him play his music and running into him at the grocery store. Knowing he was sick but not how seriously ill he was has saddened me. Patsy, I will never forget how you and I would run screaming from Rick and Greg...they so loved to "torment" us and make us scream! My love to the family.
