Grady Ralph Rummage, 88, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at his home on June 25, 2026.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Union Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Blake. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
Born on October 1, 1937, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Ralph was the son of the late Grady Lee Rummage and Mary Pearl Talbert Rummage.
A faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Ralph lived a life marked by hard work, unwavering faith, and deep devotion to his family. He retired as Plant Manager from Wiscassett Mills after many years of dedicated service. His work ethic was evident in everything he did, but it was his steadfast Christian faith that defined his life. Even in his final days, when conversation became difficult, he never lost the ability or desire to pray. His family found great comfort in witnessing the depth of his faith, which remained strong until the very end.
Ralph faithfully read his Bible and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He especially enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they played sports and treasured every opportunity to be present for their activities.
A gifted woodworker, Ralph enjoyed building things with his hands and was happiest when creating something for those he loved. He was also a devoted sports fan who faithfully cheered for the Washington Redskins and the Atlanta Braves.
On August 9, 1957, Ralph married the love of his life, Cornail Morton Rummage. Together they shared nearly sixty-nine years of marriage, building a home centered on faith, love, and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cornail Morton Rummage; sons, Roger Rummage (Jamie), Randy Rummage (Shelia), and Todd Rummage (Raine); daughter, Cindy Bowman (Allen); grandchildren, Allen "Bug" Bowman, Michael Rummage (Jessica), Summer Blackburn (Derrick), Jordan Rummage (Amanda), Ryne Rummage (Brittany), and Brittany Tomlin (Matt); and great-grandchildren, Jacob Byrd, Jeremiah Blackburn, Brawley Bowman, Asher Rummage, Gracyn Blackburn, Courtlen Bowman, Tucker Rummage, Ava Rummage, Tessa Rummage, Logan Rummage, Maverick Tomlin, and Owen Tomlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lois Kimrey and Delilah Rummage.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has remembered them with prayers, love, and acts of kindness during this difficult time.
