Grace Carolyn Bishop's Obituary
Grace Carolyn Bishop,75, of Locust, NC, passed away on May 20, 2020 at her home. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a memorial service for Mrs. Bishop will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Bishop was born November 25, 1944 in Union County, NC and was the daughter of the late Joseph Ivey Smith and Alma Tarlton Smith. She retired from the Hartford Insurance Company. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Indian Hill Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed camping, painting, crafting, the beach and the church choir. Carolyn loved her family and spending time with her grands and great - grands.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph W. Bishop, Jr. of the home. She is also survived by two daughters Ivy Deaton (Mark) of Millingport, NC and Leah Towery (David) of Locust ,NC; two brothers Douglas Smith (Judy) of Massachusetts and Hayne Smith (Kathy) of Locust, a sister Dianne Efird (Doyle) of Stanfield, NC; four grandchildren, Justin Deaton (Brooke), Shea Evans (Zach), Christina Faith Towery and Mackenzie Hope Towery and six great-grandchildren, Colton, Madilyn, Avery, Lawson, Gracie and Gage. Mrs. Bishop is also preceded in death by a granddaughter Pamela Grace Towery. Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust is serving the Bishop family
