Gloria Thomas Price's Obituary
Gloria Thomas Price, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family at the age of 74.
Gloria was born on July 11, 1950, in Camden, South Carolina, to Bobby and Katie Thomas. She was later joined by a little brother, Tim Thomas, who she doted on all the way into adulthood.
Gloria worked as a Human Resource Manager for Belk Industries for the entirety of her career, starting at the original Belk in Monroe, NC and then retiring from the Belk in Pineville, NC.
Outside of her professional life, Gloria found joy in many hobbies and activities. She was an avid gardener, spending hours cultivating beautiful flowers in her backyard and growing vegetables with her father, Bobby. Her garden was a source of pride and a place of solace for her family and friends. Gloria also had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed participating in her church choir, lifting spirits with her melodious tunes.
In addition to her dedication to others, Gloria cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted daughter to Bobby and Katie, a loving sister to Tim, an adoring mother to Ryan, and proud aunt to Mical and Kailey. Family gatherings were always filled with laughter, love, and lots of storytelling.
Gloria will be remembered for her loyalty, her unwavering faith, and her ability to inspire others through her words and actions. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and resilience that will continue to live on in those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Price (Jennifer), her brother Tim Thomas (Donna), and her nephew Mical Thomas and niece Kailey Wofford (Justin) as well as many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, visitation and viewing will begin at 10:00 AM with a memorial service to celebrate Gloria's life to follow at 11:00 AM at Davis Chapel - Stanly Funeral Home in Monroe, NC. Burial at Lakeland Memorial Park to follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Gloria's honor.
Gloria's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Atrium Hospital Union and to all who provided care and support during her illness. Your kindness will always be remembered.
Though Gloria has left us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace, reunited with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and those who went before her, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
