Gil Terry Johnson's Obituary
Gil Terry Johnson, 69, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. A gathering will be held in the Salem Methodist Church Fellowship Building on Wednesday July 12, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date with Rev. Neil Shaw officiating.
Mr. Johnson was born March 13, 1954 in Stanly County, NC to the late Beulah Jane Hatley Mann and Ned Mann. He attended Appalachian State and Stanly Community College. Gil formerly worked with Standard Packing, Stanly Fixture, Martin Industries and was self-employed with C.G. Maulding in Concord, NC. Gil was a wood worker, making articles for his family. He was a hobbyist, who loved nature and being outside.
Gil is survived by his wife, Beverly Almond Johnson of the home. He is also survived by a stepson, Sean Black (Hailey) of Norwood, NC; two brothers, Donnie Mann (Janie) and Eddie Mann (Karen) all of Albemarle, NC; two grandchildren, Austin Burleson and Natalie Black; a great grandchild, Maverick Burleson and many nephews and nieces.
