Gerald Franklin Safrit's Obituary
Mr. Gerald Franklin Safrit, age 71 of Albemarle, NC passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Atrium-Northeast, Concord NC. His memorial service will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 6:00PM at West Albemarle Baptist Church, with Rev. Adam Hatley and Rev. David Hatley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary.
Mr. Safrit was born November 4, 1947
in Stanly County, NC to the late Barley Safrit and Virginia Safrit. He was also
an undergraduate of North Carolina State University with a BS degree in
engineering. He retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. as a plant maintenance
engineer. He was a lifetime member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and loved
Bible studies. He loved the mountains, the beach and active in the Sons of
Confederate Veterans. He was also active in genealogy and a fan of Western
movies.
He was married to Mary Hathcock
Safrit of the home. Survivors include stepson, Eric Culp of Albemarle, NC,
brother, Mark Safrit of Mooresville, NC, and a grandchild, Skyler Stiles. A
brother, David Safrit preceded him in death.
