George William Kuhn Sr.'s Obituary
George William Kuhn, Sr., 79, of Norwood, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Norwood Church of God. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. David Shankle and Rev. Harry Harward. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.
Born in Boone County, West Virginia, on May 7, 1945, George was the son of the late Woodrow and Emily Kuhn. He was a devoted husband to his wife of six years, Joyce Kuhn, and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his children: George William Kuhn, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; Joshua William Kuhn of Germantown, OH, Dreama Kuhn of Tipp City, OH: and step-daughter Debbie Mc Gee (Donnie) of Salisbury. George was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by his sisters, Sarah Bush (Harvey) and Mary Gofer.
George was preceded in death by his sons, William Marshal Kuhn of Franklin, OH, and William Jay Bowling of Miamisburg, OH, as well as by four brothers: Buddy, Bobby, Freddy, and Paul.
George dedicated his career to law enforcement, retiring from Portsmouth, OH, after many years of distinguished service. A man of strong faith, he was an active member of Norwood Church of God and often stepped into the pulpit when needed. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Above all, George will be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather, especially to his cherished granddaughter, Brooklyn Kuhn, who was the joy of his life.
