George Loyd Blalock Jr.'s Obituary
George Loyd Blalock, Jr., 74, of Gold Hill, NC passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 in his home. His funeral service will be 2pm Friday, May 7, 2021 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Blalock will lie in state from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service.
He was born December 5, 1946 in Stanly County, NC to the late George Loyd Blalock and Dorothy Treece Blalock. George retired from Metal Forge and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines.
George is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Russell Blalock. He is survived by three sons, Ashley Blalock of Albemarle, NC, Bret Blalock and wife Heather of Mt. Gilead, NC and Brian Blalock and wife Crystal of Polkton, NC; three step-children, Cindy Harrell and husband Randy of New London, NC, Todd Saville of New London and Bob Saville and wife Beth of New London, NC; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild with one on the way.
