Geneva Rummage McLester, 89, of Albemarle passed away Saturday, July 1st, 2017 in Stanly Manor.? Her funeral service will be 11 AM Monday July 3, 2017 in West Oakboro Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Austin officiating.? Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery.? The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 at the church prior to the service.
Born October 21, 1927 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Harris Rummage and Lula Hatley Rummage. She was a member of West Oakboro Baptist Church.? Mrs. McLester retired as an Inspector with Stanly Knitting Mills.? She loved quilting, reading and gardening.
Ms. McLester was married to the late Jesse William ?JW? McLester who preceded her in death on March 4, 2017. Survivors include one son; Ricky Lynn McLester (Debra) of Albemarle; one daughter; Pam Wise (Eddie) of Albemarle; one daughter-in-law; Loretta McLester of Albemarle; five grandchildren; Allen McLester (Suzanne), Jennifer Walker (Jim), Heather Wise, Alex McLester, Megan Chamberlin (Mike); four great-grandchildren; Grayson McLester, Barrett McLester, Shelby Walker, Grace Chamberlin and a brother John Rummage.? She is preceded in death by one son; Larry Neil McLester.
