Gary Michael Medlin's Obituary
Gary Michael Medlin, 74, of Albemarle passed away Tuesday,
January 15, 2019 in Bethany Woods Nursing Center. A memorial service to honor his life will be
held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with
Rev. Dr. Wayne Bennett officiating. The family
will host a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service.
Born April 24, 1944 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of
the late Artis Crowell Medlin and Virginia Treece Medlin. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist
Church and retired as a manager for Lance Inc.
He graduated from New London High School. Mr. Medlin was a licensed Auctioneer and he
enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time at the beach. He was a member of Stanly Lodge #348 A. F.
and A. M.
Mr. Medlin is survived by his wife of 51 years Pamela Burris
Medlin, sons Aaron Banks Medlin of Albemarle and Neil Thatcher Medlin of
Savannah, GA, brother Marty Medlin of New London, sister Gail Blanton of Fuquay
Varina, NC, grandchildren Joseph Gray Medlin and Hunter Elizabeth Medlin, and
his special Shih-Tzu granddog, China.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 17236 Frog Pond Rd., Oakboro, NC
28129 or to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC
28001.
