Frank ""Reid"" Starnes' Obituary
Mr. Frank "Reid" Starnes, age 76, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, August 24, 2015, at Turner Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Charles Humphries. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mr. Starnes was born on December 4, 1938, in Rowan County, North Carolina, a son of the late Jesse and Alma Starnes. He was a retired machinist for IMO Pump.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Reid Starnes in 1988.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bernice Purser Starnes of the home; a son, Danny Starnes and wife, Janet, of Peachland; three daughters, Kathy Deaton and husband, Allen, of Monroe, Sandra Mussen and husband, Greg, of Weddington, Denise Bishop and husband, Bill, of Waxhaw; 15 grandchildren, Shana Starnes, Shanena Starnes, Chanel Starnes, Danielle Harris and husband, John, Monica Delimata and husband, Darrin, Andy Starnes and wife, Jordan, Ashley Deaton and Matt Curtis, Brent Deaton, Marissa Deaton and fiancé, Drew Sistar, Kevin Mussen, Kyle Mussen, Cassie Mussen, Anna Bishop, Sam Bishop, and Will Bishop. There are four great-grandchildren, Erica McMahan, Logan McMahan, Paxton Curtis and Maeleigh Delimata, and two on the way. He is also survived by a brother, Butch Caudle of Sanford; a sister, Dixie Gamble Jorgenson and husband, John, of California. Reid is also survived by his gardening buddy, Melvin McWhorter, his work buddy, Larry Leak, and his two golfing buddies, Boyd Stroud and Mike Crook.
The family will receive friends Sunday Evening, August 23, 2015, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home at 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
