Frances Greene Scarboro's Obituary
Frances Greene Scarboro, 81, of Norwood, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Charlotte, NC. Her funeral service will be 11am Monday, October 30, 2023 at Green Memorial Methodist Church with Pastor Brandon King officiating. Burial will follow in the Aquadale Baptist Church Cemetery. No visitation will be held.
She was born October 21, 1942 in Stanly County, NC to the late Ernest Jack Greene, Sr. and Ruth Townsend Greene. Frances was a proud graduate of Aquadale High School in 1960 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State, where she excelled in basketball. She was a member of Green Memorial Methodist Church, where she served on the church council and was treasurer for many years and was a faithful volunteer for church especially cooking for benefits. Mrs. Scarboro was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She owned Crafty Corners Art Studio and was a talented artist. She also loved all things cats.
Mrs. Scarboro is survived by her husband, Conrad Scarboro. She is also survived by a son, M. Todd McSwain (Sheila) of Rock Hill, SC; a daughter, Cheri Cobb (Robert) of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Ernie Greene (Mildred); four grandchildren, Jonathan Cobb (Katie), Cyndi Cobb, Macie McSwain and Maty Grace McSwain and four great-grandchildren, Lexis, Jorden, Emmie and Allie and her feline companions, Sweetie Pie and Patches.
