Evelyn Hatley Cook, 71, of Albemarle, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in her home.? Her funeral service will be 4 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 in Mt. View Baptist Church with Pastor Don Crusenberry officiating.? Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory.? The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care.
Born July 12, 1945 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Hatley and Alice Freeman Hatley and was a retired employee of Collins and Aikman.? She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and attended Full Gospel Mission.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband Doyle Brunson Cook of the home.? Other survivors include son Rodney Cook (Rachel) of New London, daughters Paula Huneycutt (Randy) and Trina Poplin (Mark) of Albemarle, 3 stepsons James Cook (Nancy), Anthony Cook (Shelia), and Grover Cook (Cecelia), 3 sisters Margaret Burleson, Dorothy Williams, and Marcelle Vick, 6 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 15 step great-grandchildren.? A sister preceded her in death.
