Emily Angeline Davis' Obituary
Emily Angeline Harris Davis, 80, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Emily was born February, 20, 1944 in Stanly County, NC, to Raymond Brantley Harris and Ruby Elba Gregory Harris.
Emily was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of The Singing Americans and loved taking trips to Garden City Beach. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, crocheting, cooking, and listening to music. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Emily is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jimmy Davis of Albemarle; sons Barry Davis (Darla) of Albemarle, NC and Eric Davis (Amy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Whitney Morton, Nicholas Davis, Mike Lentz and Marshall Hervey (Emily); great-grandchildren, Maxton, Maysie, Blakely, Adelaide, Roland, and Beatrice; siblings, Roger Harris of Wilmington, NC, Theresa Allen of Norwood, NC, Judy McRae (Nook) of Wadeville, NC, Terry Harris (Patricia) of Albemarle, NC, and Joy Haywood of Wadeville, NC; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Needham and Sondra McRae; brother, Adam Harris; and great-grandson, Silas Lentz.
Her memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle, with Pastor Shad Hicks and Pastor Ken McRae officiating. Her family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00PM at the funeral home prior to the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
