Elsie
Mae Chandler Carter, 87, of New London passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020
in the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Her funeral service will be 11 AM
Tuesday in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle with Rev. Mickey Howard
officiating. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation
Care of Albemarle from 10 until 11 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow
in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Born December 30, 1932 in
Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Taft Chandler and
Nora Belle Crisco Chandler. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and
was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by
her husband Charlie Allen Carter, Jr. Survivors include sons Sidney Allen
Carter of New London and Kenneth Hardland Carter and wife Rhonda of New London,
granddaughter Stacy Carter Frick and husband Brandon of New London, a sister
Doris Kimrey of New London, and 2 great-grandchildren Rachel Frick and Leah
Frick.
In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that memorials be made to the Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane,
Kannapolis, NC 28081.
