Ella Butler Bruton's Obituary
Ella Mae Butler Bruton, 81, of Mt. Gilead passed away Thursday,
December 12, 2019 in the First Health Hospice House, West End, NC. Her funeral service will be graveside on Monday,
December 16 at 11am at Stanly Gardens of Memory with Rev. Samuel Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral
and Cremation Care on Sunday night from 6 until 8 PM.
Mrs. Bruton was born January 31, 1938 in Montgomery County,
NC. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Butler and Sallie Barringer
Butler. She was a graduate of Peabody High School and attended Sandhills
Community College. She was retired from the NC Dept. of Correction with 30 years
of service, where she served as a Librarian. Ella was also the proud
administrator of the Bruton Family Care Home for 22 years.
Mrs. Bruton leaves behind her husband Fred Douglas Bruton of
the home; her children, daughter Janette (Samuel) Jackson of Apex and son,
Douglas Bruton (LaDeborah) of Charlotte; brother Monroe (Neise) Leake of
Albemarle; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, LaTonya (Lacy) Little of
Knoxville, TN, Portia McDonald of Apex, Shakeia McGuire of Raleigh, Farah and
Fairley Bowden of Temple, TX, Adacia Bruton, Chase Bruton and Princeton Bowden;
and a host of nieces and nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers Herbert Butler, Jr.,
Benjamin Butler and James Butler and 2 sisters Cleo Covington and Callie Belle
Gaddy.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving
the Bruton family.
