Elizabeth Kay Whitley's Obituary
Elizabeth Kay Whitley, 76, of Stanfield passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023 in her home. Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Landon Keziah and Rev. Tim Kendall presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Locust.
Born June 28, 1946 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Herman Lee Hartsell and Gladys Lee Hartsell. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and worked as a cashier at the Mini Mart Convenience Store in Stanfield. She loved her family and enjoyed baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Whitley on December 7, 2001. Survivors include children Wanda Yow (Coot) of Stanfield, Randy Whitley (Michelle) of Oakboro, and Patty Whitley (Troy) of Stanfield, sisters Josephine Furgeson and Brenda Burris (Ronnie) both of Stanfield, 9 grandchildren Jessica Medlin, Brandon Yow, Kamry Long, Hunter Whitley, Hayden Whitley, Kaleb Whitley, Kiley Whitley, Koy Whitley, and Klay Whitley, and 5 great-grandchildren Parker Medlin, Emmeline Yow, Payton Medlin, Neal Yow, and Noah Yow.
