Edward "Randy" Niven's Obituary
Edward “Randy” Niven, 74, of Locust, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. Randy was born on December 30, 1951. He worked as a truck driver for many years before retiring in 2016. Following his retirement, he devoted much of his time to volunteering with Crisis Christian Ministry and Hell Fighters in Concord, where he faithfully served others.
Randy had a deep love for nature, especially birds and plants. He spent countless hours outdoors tending to his plants and enjoying the wildlife around him—simple moments that brought him great peace and joy.
He is survived by his sister, Sandra Niven; his sons, Jacob (Susie) Niven and James Niven; and his beloved grandchildren, Henry and Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Niven .
A memorial service will be held on January 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Randy’s memory may do so through his son, Jacob Niven, who will ensure contributions are given to ministries close to his heart.
