Edith Plyler's Obituary
Mrs. Edith Mangum Plyler, age 100, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at CMC-Union.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Edith M. Plyler will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2016, at Prospect United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Rhonda Campbell.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Plyler was born on November 21, 1915, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late B.W. (Lex) Mangum and Florence Mae Plyler Mangum. Edith was married to the late Odell (Jim) Plyler, who passed in 1976, preceded in death by a son, Fred Plyler and a grandchild, Johnny O'Donohue.
She was a homemaker and her interest included dancing, crafts, reading, word search books and gardening.
Survivors include Barbara Plyler O'Donohue of Mt. Holly, Diane Plyler Griffith of Monroe and Mary Plyler Mosley of Waxhaw, Ben Plyler of Monroe, David Plyler of Monroe and Ronnie (Ron) Plyler of Ackworth, GA.There are 15 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and 4 step great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday Night, April 24, 2016, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
