Edgar Lewis Walters,'s Obituary
Edgar Lewis Walters, III, 86, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at CMC Main in Charlotte. His funeral will be Friday, October 2, at 6 PM at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alan DiDio officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30-5:45 at the Stanly Funeral Home prior to the service. The interment will take place on Sunday at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
Born April 3, 1929 in Cabarrus County, Edgar was the son of the late Edgar Lewis Walters, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Blackwelder Walters.
Mr. Walters was veteran of the U.S. Army.? He retired as a quality control engineer with Western Electric after working with them for 25 years. ?He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing on Lake Tillery. He also enjoyed the fellowship of all his friends at the HandiMart.
Edgar is survived by one son, Edgar Lewis Walters, IV (Denise) of Kennesaw, GA; one daughter, Suzanne Walters Lowder (Mark) of Albemarle; and one step-son Jack Bradbury; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one daughter Bonnie Walters Stancil.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Encounter Christ Church, P.O. Box 881 Albemarle, NC 28002.
