Earl Rape's Obituary
Mr. Earl Rape, age 85, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Mr. Earl Rape will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Phil McLean.
Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Rape was born on September 16, 1927, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late Hoyd Sylvester Rape and Myrtle Odell Forbis Rape.
He was married to the late Kathryn Austin Rape,and was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Rape Holloway, a step-son, Ronald Fowler, a brother, James (Monk) Rape and a sister, Polly Rape Taylor.
Mr. Rape was the founder and owner of Monroe Farm Center and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a lifetime member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Rape was a very hard working gentleman and businessman who loved his family and the Lord. He was also a US Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Moore Fowler Rape of Monroe; a son, Earl Wayne Rape and wife Connie Rape of Monroe; a son-in-law, Dr. John Holloway of Wheeling, WV; a step-son, Eric Fowler and Wanda of Monroe; a step-daughter, Melissa Hill and husband Charles Hill of Monroe; two sisters, Jackie Rape of Monroe and Linda Knull of Monroe.
There are seven grandchildren, Austin Rap and wife Alexis, Jared Rape, Caleb Rape, Anna Kathryn Rape and Cason Rape all of Monroe, Daniel Holloway of Charlotte and Jesse Holloway of Morgantown, WV; and four step-grandchildren, Tyler Hill, Ashton Hill, Seth Hill and Elizabeth Doster.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday Night, April 23, 2013, at Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street.
