Dwight Joseph Dennis' Obituary
Dwight J Dennis, passed away at home on September 29th at the age of 60.
Dwight is predeceased by his father, Joe Lee Dennis.
He is survived by his loving wife Debra P. Dennis of 38 years.
Dwight is lovingly remembered by his family, Alexander J. Dennis of Albemarle, Daughter, Heather D. Almond (Jake) of Albemarle, and his grandchildren: Ryan, Quinn, Sam and Ben Almond, Jayde Dennis. His Mother Bertha Huestess Dennis, and his sisters Sharon D. Kelly (Dan), their children Josh Kelly, Zach Kelly (Kati), and Susanne Cassil (John Paul), His Sister Carla D Benton (Craig) their children C.J. and Rachel Lauren. His great nieces and nephew, Jackson Kelly, Caroline Kelly, Ruth and Miriam Cassil.
Dwight was born in Charlotte, NC in January 1961. He graduated from Forrest Hills High in 1978 and went on to study photography. He owned and operated The Homeplace Rest and Retirement, acting as not only the owner, but also as Supervisor, Personal Care Aide, and Supervisor in Charge.
Dwight’s passion was Landscape Photography, Gourmet Meals, and being Granddaddy and husband. He was also a member of the Stanly Arts Guild and loved to work with other artists and bring joy and education to the community through art. He loved studying his family’s heritage in Stanly County, and connecting history to the present with his Morrow Mountain Splendor and God’s Country Artography series.
The visitation will be held at ANDERSON GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 2225 E. MAIN ST, ALBEMARLE NC on October 2, 2021, from 3:00pm-3:45pm
The funeral service will be held at the church, on October 2, 2021, 4:00 with Pastor Dwayne Hinson officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
