I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Dot about 5 years at Delmar, my first “real†job, and saw firsthand what it meant to be a valued employee. And what a joy running into her many years later as she was a hostess in Waxhaw. Prayers for your family in the passing of a fine lady.
Ms. Dot Starnes, my last aunt to pass away, was like no other lady! She was such a loving, funny, God-abiding lady that took special care of her family, her home and her garden. She was often short on words, but meant everything she said. My mother and Aunt Dot shared the same birthday and were very close as sisters-in-law. Rest well now Aunt Dot. You've had a good, long life and was loved by so many. Give Mom a big hug for me.â ¤Â
Like Delane stated, Miss Dot was a part of our Turner family, and definitely will be missed. As a neighbor she also held a special place in my mom's life. Dot and Evelyn would pick my mom up and take her to meetings and events at the Church when Dad didn't want her driving. I was also very impressed with her determination to garden while she was in her 90's!â ¤ She was a strong woman that I truly admired. RIP Miss Dot. Praying for your family.
