Doris Forester Teeter's Obituary
Ms. Doris Lillian Bailey Forester Teeter, age 92, of Monroe, NC, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at Brookdale Monroe Square.
Services to honor Doris' life will be held on Friday, May 21 at 2:00PM in the H. Vann Davis III Chapel of Davis Funeral Service, 1003 E. Franklin St. Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Dr. Rev. Robert "Bob" Childs. Interment will immediately follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Doris was born February 28, 1929 in Anson County, NC, a daughter of the late James B. Bailey and Nezzie Mae Goodwin Bailey. Throughout her life, Doris had a passion for music and loved sharing that with all those around her. Her home was known as the gathering place for everyone in the neighborhood and Doris enjoyed sitting on the porch, singing and playing guitar for all. Some of her most cherished and remembered songs played on the guitar were "One Day at a Time" and "Que Será, Será". Doris was a very spirited and loving soul who also possessed a feisty personality anytime she needed it. She cherished the bond of family and her world revolved around her children and grandchildren. Doris knew the importance of every moment on this side of eternity and will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched for saying "Go Home, Get Rest and I Love You".
Those left to cherish Doris' memory include her three sons; Henry Forester, Dewey Forester (Barbara), and Douglas Forester (Glenda), her brother, Beauford Bailey, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister, five brothers and daughter-in-law, Sarah Forester.
