Joan Shank Claxton
Doris is a special Aunt as she is my mother’s sister (Lois Shank). Doris was always so kind and quiet but she loved to laugh. She and my Mom would tell stories about when they were little and the funny things their brother Bruce would do. Like my Mom, Doris was very talented at needlework and one Christmas she knitted me an amazingly detailed wardrobe for my Barbies. I played with those clothes for years and my daughters also enjoyed those outfits many years later! I last visited with Doris in Florida ten years ago with my parents. I cherish the memory of seeing my Mom and Doris sitting together again, talking, laughing, and sharing memories.
