Dora B. Funderburk's Obituary
Mrs. Dora Baker Mills-Funderburk, age 92, of Monroe, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Brookdale Robinwood in Gastonia, NC.
Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC, 28112, officiated by Reverend Shad Hicks. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at Davis.
Dora was born on November 28, 1924, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late John L. Baker and the late Eugenia Collins Baker. She was married to the late Fred Mills. Then she married the late Dr. Ervin M. Funderburk, and was an administrative assistant with Dr. Ervin M. Funderburk Dentistry of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by both husbands; her son Fred L. Mills; her grandson John Warren Mills; and her sister Juanita B. Beaver.
Survivors include her son Gerald L. Mills of Hickory, NC; her stepsons Ervin "Mac" Funderburk of Statesville, NC and James N. Funderburk of Altavista, VA; her special niece Linda Walden Adcock (Ray) of Wingate, NC; her special family friend Jim Kirkman; there are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Road, Monroe, NC, 28112.
