Donnie Lee Melton, 67, of Monroe passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Prospect Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Darr Read Obituary
Cousin Donnie, a sincere, cheerful, and humble spirit. I will cherish fond recollections of the Melton family reunions at the home site front yard and later in the "hut" at Prospect Church. Thirty Melton first cousins; we sure knew how to have fun together. Regret not making it to the service. Will visit him in the cemetery when there to visit Mom, Pop, Sarah, and other Melton clan. Donnie was a school friend. I remember he was smart, and funny and a really nice guy. It seems he carried those attributes with him through his life. I am sorry for his family's loss and extend my sympathies to all of them. Ava Runyan Willis
Don was a business colleague and personal friend of mine for many years and we enjoyed working together in an industry that so rewarding in that it lent itself to helping others. Don was always there when help was needed and very adept at his craft. He made a difference in the lives of a lot of people and companies.More importantly Don was a believer in Jesus Christ and conversations we had about life and the future were encouraging and confident. His life will live on in the lives of so many others he influenced for good.In the words of Betty Feezor, noted person of WBTV television years ago said, "Live so that when you are gone, it will haves mattered that you were here." Don did that and we are blessed to have known him. May God's comfort be with the family as you celebrate Don's life well lived.
