Diane Baker Ramseur's Obituary
Diane Baker Ramseur, 70, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Glen A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.? Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Concord First Assembly located at 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd. N., Concord in the main Sanctuary.? The family will greet friends following the service in the lobby.
Diane was born on October 9, 1945 in Albemarle, NC, the daughter of Viola Hudson Baker Truette of Albemarle and the late William L. Baker.? A graduate of Albemarle High School, Diane was a former Miss Stanly County and a Finalist in the 1964 Miss North Carolina Pageant.? She went on to become the vocalist of ?The Winstons,? a folk music trio group, popular throughout the Carolinas in the 1960?s.
Since then, Diane established herself as a skilled portrait and watercolor artist.? Her art career has spanned over 35 years.? She will forever be remembered for her vast creative talent and warm spirit.
Diane is survived by her husband of forty years, Tom Ramseur of Concord, daughters: Stephanie Dobbs Grant (James) of Columbus GA, Caroline Ramseur Tyndall (Isaac) of China Grove, and Heidi Ramseur Lee (Keith) of Kannapolis, grandchildren Harrison Holding, Meredith Holding, Sam Holding, Zac Tyndall, Ben Tyndall, Will Tyndall, Peyton Tyndall and Liza Jane Lee, brothers Stuart Daniel Baker of Albemarle and Bill Baker (Marsha) of Lancaster, SC along with several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Levine Cancer Institute 1021 Morehead Medical Dr., Charlotte, NC 28204.
