Delores Burleson Kimmer's Obituary
Delores Burleson Kimmer, 72, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Atrium Health Stanly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Born January 23, 1953, in Stanly County, Delores was the daughter of the late James and Sarah Burleson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lee Misenheimer, in 1998, and her second husband, James Kimmer, in 2016.
Delores is lovingly survived by her children, Lisa Kimmer of Marshville, NC, Charles Misenheimer of Albemarle, James Misenheimer (Jennifer) of Albemarle, and Crystal Eudy of Albemarle; her grandchildren, Camden Misenheimer, Kayla Dowd (Spencer), Morgan Snyder, and Brooklinn Snyder; and her great-grandchild, Rhett Misenheimer. She is also survived by her sisters, Terry Hopson (George) and Roxie Howard.
Delores was a devoted mother and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a simple life rooted in strong faith, kindness, and generosity. She found joy in flowers and good food and was known for always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Atrium Health Stanly for the compassionate care and support shown to Delores during her declining health.
