Delaine Manus' Obituary
Mrs. Delaine Manus, age 70, of Waxhaw, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 12:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Curtis Laney and Pastor Kris Pennigar. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Manus was born on December 12, 1943, in Union County, a daughter of the late John Henry Preslar and Mary Winnie Kelly Preslar. She was a retired textile supervisor and was employed at White Oak Manor Rest Home in Waxhaw.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrin Price; two brothers, Everette Preslar and Jimmy Preslar; two sisters, Joyce Preslar and Dorothy Deese.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Manus of the home; one son, Jeff Melton and wife, Joy, of Concord; three granddaughters, Jennifer Pennigar of Unionville, Riley Melton of Concord, Jessica Melton of Lancaster; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Pennigar and Liam Pennigar; one step-son, Bryon Manus and wife, Robin, of Wesley Chapel; one step-daughter, Michelle Miller of Charlotte; one step-grandson, Jordan Manus of Wesley Chapel, two step-granddaughters, Hunter Manus of Wesley Chapel and Ari Miller of Charlotte; and one sister, Betty Hartsell of Mt. Pleasant.
The family will receive friends Sunday (April 27, 2014) from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM prior to the service at Mary Elizabeth Baptist Church at 3703 Mary Elizabeth Church Road in Waxhaw.
