Ms. Debbie was a treasure! She had such a gentle demeanor, a heartwarming smile, a beautiful voice, and the most amazing handwriting you could imagine! Her deep love for children was obvious, and our three grown daughters all loved her. One mentioned that she loved saying her AWANA verses to Ms. Debbie, partly bc she was so kind and encouraging and partly bc she loved the way she signed her book! She did have amazing handwriting! We are thrilled for her to be whole and well and with Jesus.

Debbie was such a blessing to our family as she so lovingly taught our children's Sunday school class. Years later, I was blessed to sing with her in the church choir. Most recently, just 4 days before she went to be with Jesus, I went to visit her in Monroe and we sang hymns together as she lay in her bed with a smile on her face. I asked her what she wanted to sing first and she responded with one of my favorite hymns, "Do you know, 'I Come to the Garden Alone'?" For many years I sang it over my children while they lay in bed before falling asleep. I'm so thankful for getting to witness her sweet, sweet spirit and love for her Lord even to the end of her days. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15 Debbie was a beautiful witness of trusting in her Lord and resting in His comforting arms to the very end.

Really appreciated Debbie's commitment to coming to JAARS, even though limited physically and taking the time to serve especially by doing individual hand-written appreciation cards incl calligraphy to partners!
