David Victor Williamson, 52, of Albemarle passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in his home.? His funeral service will be graveside 2 PM Friday, November 25, 2016 in Stanly Gardens of Memory with Rev. Fred Carpenter officiating.? The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care prior to the graveside service.
David was born in Shelby, NC on January 22, 1964 to the late Alfred H. Williamson and H. Poniese Wilson Williamson.? He was a former employee of the City of Albemarle and Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Shelby, NC.? David was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church in Shelby.? He was an avid motorcycle rider and he loved his Harley Davidson.? David traveled extensively and enjoyed SCUBA diving in many locations around the world.? He dearly loved his Nieces and Nephews.
David is survived by a sister Dr. Linda Lawrence and husband Eric of Albemarle, niece Sarah Lawrence and nephew Charlie Lawrence of Albemarle, nephew Alfred H. Williamson III and wife Bobbie and their children Dax and Harper all of Mills River, NC.? A brother, Alfred H. Williamson Jr. preceded him in death.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the employees of the City of Albemarle who donated their time, energy and PTO to David when he became ill.? Their outpouring of love was appreciated more than words may express.? In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Toys for Tots C/O Tim Pressley, 29649 Sides Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001.
