David Rance Starnes, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. David Rance Starnes, Jr., age 76, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013, at his residence.
A Graveside Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Lakeland Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend Dac Croasmun.
Mr. Starnes was born on June 28, 1937, in Union County, North Carolina, a son of the late David Rance Starnes and Maybelle Moser Starnes. He was a retired carpenter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Ray Starnes and Frank Starnes.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara McRorie Starnes of the home; one son, David R. Starnes, III and wife, Lisa, of Unionville; two daughters, Susan Haigler Kampen and husband, Rick, of Waxhaw, and Marilyn Laney and husband, Johnny, of Monroe. There are nine grandchildren, Sergeant Jacob Kunst and wife, Stephanie, of Cherry Point, Jamison Lei Kunst of Charlotte, Erica Kunst, Josephine Kunst, Morgan Kampen, Isabelle Kampen, all of Waxhaw, Megan Kay of Wingate, Kelsey Kay and Amber Starnes, both of Unionville; and one great-grandchild, Alice Caroline Kunst of Cherry Point.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
