Dathene Phillips' Obituary
Dathene Phillips,83, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 in Trinity Place. There will be no formal visitation or service at this time.
She was born July 12, 1940 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Fred Weir Castles, Sr. and Lillie Hall Castles. Dathene was a member of Green Memorial Baptist Church, where she taught the four- and five-year-olds for over forty years. She never met a stranger and leaves behind many friends.
Dathene is survived by her husband Boyd H. Phillips, Jr. she is also survived by a son, Todd Phillips (Bobbie Jo) of Badin, NC; a daughter Tracey Phillips of Albemarle, NC; brother, Fred Castles, Jr. of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Tonya Lau (Kyle), Tina Ryals and Tara Drake (Scott) and Joey Phillips and four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Rylan, Kasen and Carmen.
