Dale Caldwell Austin's Obituary
Dale Caldwell Austin, 89, of Locust, NC, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his home. His funeral service will be 11am Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Locust First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Ross and Dr. Kenny Wallace officiating. A burial with Military Rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am until 10:45am prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Austin was born June 5, 1934 in Union County, NC to the late Ellis Euphland “Bill” Austin and Eunice Caldwell Austin. He was a retired accountant with Superior Piping of Charlotte, NC for 36 years. Dale was a member of Locust First Baptist Church, where he served as the church accountant for fifty years. He loved his family, friends and doing yard work. Mr. Austin was a member of the Locust VFW and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lyndell “Lynn” Almond Austin of the home for 67 years. He is also survived by a son, Danny Caldwell Austin of Locust, NC; brother, Larry Carter of Monroe, NC; sister, Bernice Austin Tomberlin of Monroe, NC; three grandsons, Eddie Roman Russell of IL, Dustin Caldwell Austin of Locust, NC and Charles James Austin of Locust, NC and a granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Hilman of Albemarle, NC.
