Born April 21, 1974 in Anson County, NC he was the son of Jackie Cox Gregory and stepfather Ray Gregory Jr. of Locust and the late Curtis Joseph Cox. In addition to his parents, Curtis is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mandy Stoker Cox of the home, children Will Cox and Macy Cox of the home, siblings Lori Hesling (Leigh) of High Point, Tripp Gregory (Jessica) of Jacksonville, FL, and Brooke Smith (Andy) of Mint Hill, nieces and nephews: Matthew Grisham, Greyson and Ross Griffin, Brinn and Landon Kimrey, Cruz and Chase Hesling, and Holden and Harper Smith.
Curtis was co-owner and operator of Crossroads Tire of Midland. He was a devoted member of North Albemarle Baptist Church where he formerly served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He not only walked boldly in his faith with the Lord but was also quick to share his faith with others. He never met a stranger and everyone who knew him knew he was a good and faithful servant.
Curtis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a proud member of the Fishers of Men ministry and one thing he enjoyed most was sharing devotionals before the tournaments. He was also a passionate fan of NC State and the Dallas Cowboys and shared his love of sports with his children. Curtis was actively engaged with all things involving his kids. Whether it was on a boat, in a deer stand, or on a sports field, his heart and passion was raising his kids to be the best version of themselves. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
His family was his pride and joy. He loved his parents, siblings, mother-in-law, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, and they adored him too. He was a devoted husband, father, son, uncle, and friend who will be missed dearly.
