Cornelia Ussery Blackwell's Obituary
Cornelia Ussery Blackwell, 96, of Albemarle passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in CHS-Stanly.? Her funeral service will be 3 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Smith officiating.? Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory.? The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle on Thursday from 1 until 2:30 prior to the service.
Born August 25, 1922 in Richmond County, NC, she was the
daughter of the late William Thomas Ussery and Cornia Smith Ussery and was a
retired employee of the American Efird Mill Co.
She attended Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blackwell enjoyed her flower garden and enjoyed walking on the
beach but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially
her grandchildren.
Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by her husband J. D.
Blackwell, son John Daniel Blackwell and grandson David Soles, Jr. She is survived by a son Billy Blackwell
(Linda) of Galivants Ferry, SC, daughters Judy Batten (Bill) of North Myrtle
Beach, SC and Barbara Blackwell of Albemarle, 6 grandchildren, 10
great-grandchildren and 12 great-greatgrandchildren.
