Connie Ray Cheek's Obituary
Connie "Ray" Cheek, 81, of Albemarle passed away Tuesday February 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 3PM Saturday February 10, 2024, at Mt. View Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Steve Tucker, Rev. Don Crusenberry and Rev. Jared Graham. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
Ray was born January 30, 1943, in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late Waymon and Edna Cheek. Ray is Lovingly survived by his wife, Faye Cheek of 61 Years. He is also survived a daughter; Yvonne Howard (Reece) of Albemarle and sons; Michael Cheek of Albemarle, William Cheek of Albemarle and Richard Cheek of Albemarle. Ray is also survived by grandchildren; Jennifer Whitley (Seth) and Timothy Howard (Kristin), great-grandchildren; Noah, Judah, and Lucas, sisters; Janice Grant and Judy Smith.
Ray was predeceased by brothers; Lloyd Cheek and Sam Cheek, sisters; Joyce Vickery and Jeanette Manley.
Ray was the Manager of the infamous Sky City in Albemarle. He later became a magistrate and a reserve Police Officer with the City of Albemarle. Following, he started Rambar Sales and Service, Lawn Mower repair which he enjoyed until later in life. He loved to read and watch tv. Ray was very active in church while his health permitted where he served as Deacon and Treasurer.
