Clyde Austin's Obituary
Mr. Clyde Austin, age 87, of Matthews, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Pruitt Union Pointe in Monroe, NC.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Reverend Joe Kirkpatrick.
Mr. Austin was born on July 26, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde Wilson Austin and the late Betty Lane Austin. He was employed as a plant manager and supervisor for Southern Engineering with over 27 years of dedicated service, he was also a US Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Elma Baucom Austin; his son James Clyde Austin and his grandchild David Baker.
Survivors include his wife La Rue Ivey Austin of Matthews, NC; his daughters Betty Austin Baker and husband Kermit of Indian Trail, NC and Wanda Austin Wiese and husband Kurt of Monroe, NC; his son Leonard Wilson Austin and wife Angela of Whittier, NC; his brother Bill Austin of Indian Trail, NC; and there are nine grand children and twenty great grandchildren .
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Davis Funeral Home prior to the funeral ceremony.
