Clegg Junior Ridenhour, 86, of Albemarle passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 in his home.? His funeral service will be graveside at 2 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017 in Fairview Memorial Park with Pastor Adam Hatley officiating.? The family will receive friends on Monday at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service.
Born April 23, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Dewey Ridenhour and Emma Sells Ridenhour.? Mr. Ridenhour retired from the City of Albemarle Light and Water Departments.? He worked with the first Stanly County Rescue Squad.?? Mr. Ridenhour was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sudie Corbett Ridenhour in 2015.? Survivors include daughter, Susan Ridenhour MacKinnon and husband Stephen of Albemarle, grandson Brian Surratt of Tucker, GA, great-grandsons Lewis Surratt and Carter Surratt, brothers-in-law Walter Thompson of Albemarle and Bill Corbett and wife Julie of Tamassee, SC.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Mr. Ridenhour?s caregiver, Margueretta Brown.? The family also requests that memorials be made to West Albemarle Baptist Church or to Community Home Care and Hospice.
